Robert G. Parkinson
Wealth Management Consultant
Before founding Cordingley & Parkinson Wealth Management, Rob was Vice President of Finance and Investments at a regional bank where he managed an $80 million portfolio. He also served on various administrative committees. Initially at the bank, he worked in the trust department, specializing in estate planning and qualified retirement plans. Rob began his career over twenty-five years ago in Atlanta, Georgia where he worked for a wealth management company serving a national clientele. He has extensive experience in estate planning, tax planning, retirement planning, asset allocation, investment analysis and business planning.
Rob has earned a Masters of Taxation degree from Georgia State University. He did his undergraduate studies at The Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University where he graduated summa cum laude. He has also earned the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. Rob has been an adjunct faculty member at a local university teaching advanced courses in finance and investments.
Rob promotes organ donation by speaking at events and by telling his story. He received a liver transplant in January of 2010 from a neighbor whose wife designated Rob to be the recipient. Rob celebrates 365 birthdays a year. Rob and his wife, Tracey, are also involved in improving child literacy.
W. Kay Cordingley
Wealth Management Consultant
Before founding Cordingley & Parkinson Wealth Management, Kay was a Senior vice-president at a regional bank. While at the bank, Kay headed the Financial Services Division which included the Trust Department, the Insurance Department, and the Escrow Department. He was also a member of many administrative committees including the trust committee, the investment committee, the employee benefits committee, the asset/liability committee, and the executive committee. Because of his experience, he has a keen understanding of economic cycles, investment vehicles, retirement plans, and business management. In total, Kay has over forty years of banking and investment experience. He has helped hundreds of clients with tax planning, retirement planning, investment planning, and trust and estate planning.
Kay graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in business administration from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He also graduated with honors from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.
Kay enjoys the mountains. A favorite day would include a four-wheeling trip to the mountains. Kay also enjoys sports, golfing and hunting. He and his wife, Janet, have three children and nine grandchildren.
